One of the most talked about foot treatments in social media right now, The Listerine foot soak!
If you haven’t heard about it, this involves soaking your tootsies in Listerine (yes, the antiseptic mouthwash)
The idea behind this is along with vinegar, softens hard, cracked skin and re-balances any.. erm.. fungal issues.
I had to give it a go to see what all the fuss is about. I have cracked heals from a long summer of flipflops and I’ve neglected my feet for so long!
Here’s the recipe!
One bowl of quite warm water.
Half a cup of Listerine.
Half a cup of Vinegar.
And in a separate dish, 2 tablespoons of Salt and a good slug of Olive oil.
What do you do?
First of all I filled my bowl with nice warm water (a bit on the too warm side because I intended my feet to be in there for 20 minutes)
I added the Listerine and Vinegar
Put my feet in and relaxed, watched a Youtube video and ate a bowl of cereal.
After 15 minutes I scooped the olive oil and salt mixture on one foot at a time and massaged it into my feet, concentrating on my heals.
Another few minutes soak and out my feet came!
Actually I wasn’t expecting the hype to live up to my expectations but I was surprised!
My feet were super soft and a visible difference on my cracked skin.
I’m not sure if the it was more the actual soak in hot water and salt scrub or Listerine is in fact magical!
However the whole process was unbelievable as far as a foot treatment goes.
Here is my before and after shot!
What do you think? Amazing hey?
Give it a go and let me know if it works for you too
